Aashiyana is currently a paralegal at a personal injury law firm in Chicago, Illinois. With a keen interest in advancing her legal career, she is set to embark on a Juris Doctor (J.D) degree program starting August 2024. She completed her Master’s degree in Gender and Development Studies from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), with a Belt and Road Scholarship. Aashiyana Adhikari’s professional and academic endeavors reflect a deep-seated dedication to legal
advocacy, social justice, and international development. Her contributions to gender studies, legal empowerment, and global peace initiatives position her as a distinguished future leader in the legal and
international development sectors.



Agya Basnet

After graduating from National College, Agya worked in several business sectors like sastodeal.com and IME pay. She also founded an import trade company by the name of Tapashya Trade and Impex. She is currently a finance head/ director at Siddhababa construction and profile. She credits her success in the
financial sector to the practical knowledge she was able to acquire during her four year study at NC. Apart from working in her venture, she loves to spend time with animals. For this, she has also founded her own NGO ‘Home for Paws’, which helps street dogs.



Sudishi Thapa

Sudishi completed her Masters degree in Social Work from Monash University, Australia, in 2020. Currently she is working as a social worker in the disability sector. Currently she is preparing herself as a researcher with the main aim to influence social policies regarding disabilities, in Australia, as well as back in Nepal.



Sudyumna Dahal

Sudyumna holds an MA in International Economics from Johns Hopkins University (SAIS) and a PhD from the Centre for Applied Macroeconomic Analysis at the Australian National University (ANU). Currently, he is a Regional Economist at the UNDP Regional Hub for Asia and the Pacific, where he covers 36 countries. In this role, he advises on public finance, macroeconomics, environmental finance, and human development in the Asia-Pacific countries under the Hub’s purview. He’s also one of the lead authors of the UNDP Regional Human Development Report 2023 entitled Making Our Future – New Directions for Human Development in Asia and the Pacific.


Chittaranjan Pandey

Upakar Pandey

Upakar holds Master of Arts in Sociology from Purwanchal University. His academic strength in qualitative research, power leadership and development and gender has given him the opportunity to work in various social sectors. Currently, he is a partnership specialist in Street Business School and a project coordinator in Center for Good Governance and Peace. His work demands extensive travels and takes him to many corners of the world.



Bijeta Bhandari

Bijeta is a graduate of Media and Communication from Sungkyunkwan University, Seoul, South Korea. She was a recipient of Global Korea Scholarship provided by South Korean Government. Currently, she is working as an officer in Nepal Investigative Multimedia Journalism Network where she writes programs, project reports, and press releases. She also organizes and facilitates trainings and workshops for journalists from across the country.



Shailaja Kasaju

Shailaja completed her Masters in Development Studies from BRAC University, Bangladesh. Currently she is working as a startup and incubation manager at Skill Lab. She has won many awards and competitions in the category of entrepreneurship, fashion and innovation. Such include Private Sector Innovation Challenge, 2022, USAID Tayar Nepal, Climate Launch pad, 2022, the global green business ideas competition, 3rd International Entrepreneurship concave, 2022, Connect IN and so on.


Ayushma Maharjan

Ayushma is currently studying Master of Public Policy in Blavatnik School of Government, University of Oxford, UK. After graduating from Bachelors in Development Finance, Ayushma worked extensively as a research consultant in Samriddhi Foundation and Scott Wilson Nepal Pvt. Ltd., Nepal. During her job
tenure, she honed her research skills and worked on papers and policy, providing valuable insights to such institutions like National Planning Commission and crafted policy memo in areas like agriculture, private sector development and public financial management reforms.



Neshma Tuladhar

Neshma is currently pursuing her PhD degree in Disaster Preparedness Mitigation and Management under His Majesty The King’s Scholarship at the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok. Before moving to Bangkok to pursue her graduate degree, Neshma worked at Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA)
Nepal Chapter, Kathmandu, as a Communication Officer. During the course of her graduate degree she also published many articles related to disaster preparedness and mitigation, in some of the renowned international journals.



Anil Parajuli

Anil Parajuli works as a Start-up and Innovation Support Expert for NAMDP Phase II at Swiss contact. He was the Business Incubation Lead at Nepal Communities for 3 years before joining Swiss contact. He coaches start-ups and entrepreneurs to make them the first round of investment-ready. He is an
angel investor and has invested in five start-ups. Anil profoundly values the importance of continued learning and engages with graduate and undergraduate students on entrepreneurship and business strategy, as a part-time faculty at King’s College and Ace International Business School in Kathmandu. He
Is also the chairman of Himalayan Floriculture and Vice President at Hatti Hatti. He holds an MBA in entrepreneurship from King’s College.



Mahendra Bhat

Narayani is an MBA graduate in Human Resource Management. She has kept herself engaged in various projects since the time she was taking her undergraduate studies, here at National College. Her experiences ranges from being selected as a Youth Leader in International Visitor Leadership Program
(IVLP) to visit USA funded by US Department of States (2016) to being able to secure second place in ‘Walk for Nepal Youth Innovation Fund 2012’ in the project, ‘Green gifts’ organized by Nepal. Currently, Narayani Is a Program Manager at Antarprerana Pvt. Ltd. She is also a lecturer taking up subjects like
entrepreneurship and sociology for business at various colleges in the Kathmandu valley.



Pratibha Sah

Pratibha chose Masters in Development Studies as her post graduate study after she completed Bachelor in Development Finance. This multi-disciplinary academic knowledge that Pratibha was able to acquire in her undergraduate as well as post graduate studies have given her tremendous opportunities
in her professional career. Currently she works as a project coordinator in Development Facilitation Network, in project Triyuga Agriculture and livestock entrepreneurship development program for smallholder farmers and youth funded by Triyuga Municipality and Heifer International Nepal.



Shree Krishna Basnet

Shree Krishna Basnet has Masters in Public Health from State University of Bangladesh, Dhaka. Currently he is also pursuing M. Phil in Population Studies from TU. In the professional front, Shree Krishna has more than a decade long experience in social sector working in such organizations like Nepal Health
Family Program, Save the Children, maxPro Pvt. Limited, Oxfam and so on. Currently he is in Women and Children Welfare Society as a Technical Project Coordinator where he develops, plans, organizes and conducts various health related activities.



Sagoon Bhetwal

Sagoon Bhetwal is currently pursuing Masters in Comparative Social Policy in University of Oxford under the fully funded Weidenfeld Hoffman Scholarship and Leadership Program. During her undergraduate studies and then after, Sagoon kept herself engaged and active in raising voice against social ills
impacting women. She did this by being engaged in such organizations like Women LEAD, Canopy Nepal, Nepal Institute for Policy Research, FRIDA The Young Feminist Fund and so on. She has also published many articles and reports focusing on conditions of women from all sectors of life.

Yajaswi Rai

Yajaswi has completed her Masters degree in sustainability from University of Sydney, Australia. Driven, focused and hardworking, Yajaswi has been able to achieve many milestones at a young age. She is a recipient of Australia Awards 2022 and Face of Australia Awards 2023. She is also winner of Youth
Enterprise and Social Innovation Challenge 2021. She has attended many national and international seminars as a speaker on the issues of sustainability. She also founded an organization named ‘Leklekk: The Green Wave’ with the mission and vision to achieve a fair balance of profitability, social responsibility, and environment sustainability. Apart from this, she is a steering committee member at Intergeneration Feminist Forum and Board of Director at Canopy Nepal.


Shristi Shakya

Shristi is currently pursuing her MPhil in Development Studies at the University of Oxford, UK. She is the recipient of a fully funded Clarendon Fund Scholarship awarded to students with academic excellences. She showed her academic excellence while studying here at the college too. She was awarded with KU
VC medal for topping the University. During the tenure of her degree she also engaged herself in various jobs mainly focusing on enhancing her research skills. She has also published many articles and op-Eds.
