Kathmandu International Literature Festival-2023
It is an immense pleasure that National College is working with many cultural and developmental institutions across the various countries in South Asia, in which South Asia Foundation is one of them, that frequently organise various programmes which prioritize music, literature, art and culture to march in the track of prosperity. As one of the core belief of the college is to promote the literature and art, it organises various festivals and carnivals corresponding to the cultural and literature integrity.
To rejuvenate the spirit of literature prosperity for the collective wellbeing of the nation, enhancing the hidden literature, the college has already organized first International Literature Festival in December 27-29, 2019 successfully with the immense engagement of the students of the college in various capacity, the faculties, staffs and the delegates from 10 different countries from Asia, Europe, Australia and America. After the big relief of deadly Pandemic of COVID 19, the college has come up with new spirit to organise second version of the Kathmandu International Literature Festival in collaboration with the existing literary figures of Nepal and the literature enthusiastic students of the college on 24 – 26 February 2023. As an extra-curricular activity, the college has organized inter-college poetry competition every year that has helped the students to find the hidden talent within them out and to establish a very good networks among the creative minds.
As in the first international literature festival in Kathmandu (2019 December) the proposed festival will provide a good opportunity to the Nepalese writers, poets and youths to meet some acclaimed creative writers from South Asia and other parts of the world, to hear them, to make worthy interaction with them and to develop a good international networks for future. This festival also opens the window of very natural beauty of Nepal in front of the creative persons from across the world, that helps to promote the tourism sector in Nepal in the days to come through their writings, feature articles, blogs and recommendations to their friends’ circle to visit to Nepal.
To enrich the diversified Nepali literature and to bring it to the forefront vis-à-vis international arena of literature, we believe that this festival will turn into a milestone for the Nepali Literature to create space in the landscape of international literature in the days to come.
We are expecting delegates and participants from the South Asia, other countries from Asia, Australia, Europe and America. In addition to the delegates from abroad, more than 100 delegates will be invited from different regions of Nepal. The delegates include the renowned literary figures and selected youth poets, artists, actors/actress cultural activists from Nepal as well as various parts of the globe.
