NATURE OF PROGRAM

BDFin is an interdisciplinary course that combines Finance with courses on economics,  management, and development along with research courses. ‘Development finance’ aims to create solutions to challenges that the global but more so the local businesses, industries, banking, and financial institutions face especially in the deprived sector.

OBJECTIVE/ OUTCOME

To empower students to use finance as a tool not just for earning profits, but also for creating, sound financial institutions, and markets for sustainable investments thus ensuring pro-poor economic growth leading to the formation of a sustainable society.

Upon completion of the program, graduates will be equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills, and aptitude relating to finance, management, development, and research.

JOB OPPORTUNITIES

This interdisciplinary knowledge of finance will lead them to become compassionate bankers, ethical business people, conscious entrepreneurs, and above all agents of change for economic development, financial inclusion, and poverty alleviation. BDFin graduates can have job opportunities in the financial sectors (banks and insurance), microfinance, and cooperatives in addition to developing enterprises, development institutions, and research institutions. This could be in all sectors viz. governmental, non-governmental, and private organizations.

FURTHER STUDIES:

Master in Economics, Finance, and Accountancy, MBA, Master in Development Finance, and Master in Development Studies among others.

BDFin graduates will be equipped with the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes relating to finance, management, development, and research.
