NATURE OF PROGRAM

In development studies, students will understand the policies, actions, and interventions that bring about the kinds of social change that lead to higher levels of well-being amongst people – especially in parts of the world that lack the resources and institutions that can provide them with a decent life. Bachelor in Development Studies (BDevS) program emphasizes sustainable development and practices introducing scholars to an interdisciplinary study of Economics, Sociology, Environment, Development Management, and Research.

OBJECTIVE/ OUTCOME

To equip students with the necessary academic and practical knowledge on the multidimensionality of livelihood, natural resource management, Environment Impact Assessment, Project management, Evaluation, Development, Research, GIS,  community development, and sustainable practices to work for making society sustainable.

Job Opportunities

Social and Development Organizations, Environmental Studies Institutions, Policy Institutions, Governmental, and Non-Governmental organizations including NGOs, INGO, and International Organizations

FURTHER STUDIES

Masters in the field of Economics, Development, Management, Social Work, International Relations and MBA. 

The BDevs graduates will be equipped with the necessary knowledge and practical skills in GIS (Geographical Information System), Environmental Impact Assessment, Project Management and Evaluation, Development Research, and Community Mobilization.
